Case Study on

Homeowner – North Wales (Residential)

The property was purchased a little less than 2 months before the client contacted us

Information

Invasive weed present: Japanese Knotweed

The property was purchased a little less than 2 months before the client contacted us after moving in and starting to realise the appearance of Japanese Knotweed in the rear garden. This is a small 3-bedroom terraced property with a small enclosed rear hard with a raised section and lots of slate.

The homeowner had purchased as a cash buyer and the presence of Japanese Knotweed was not disclosed by the seller, and there seemed little chance of redress against the seller for non-disclosure on the TA6 form.

The new homeowner wanted a non-chemical treatment as she planned to spend a lot of time in the garden.

Follow up

The property was attended and thermos-electric treatment applied to all the Japanese Knotweed that was visible. Slate stones were also lifted to identify any rhizomes that could be seen between the growth, and further thermos-electric applied to all rhizomes that could be identified.
